ACTORS ASSOCIATES
Making it Happen at Actors Theatre Every Day

Associates LogoActors Associates is a self-supporting fellowship of theatre lovers in service to Actors Theatre of Louisville. While serving Actors, the Associates enrich their own theatre experience, enhance their personal development, and contribute to the continuing success of Actors Theatre.

An exciting array of volunteer opportunities awaits you through membership in Actors Associates. The organization provides two kinds of opportunities: activities for personal enrichment and various chances to support Actors Theatre. The women and men of this dynamic organization lend their time and talent in outstanding support of the theatre. Daytime and evening opportunities exist in the areas of Service, FUNdraising, Hospitality and Communication. Below is brief listing of some of those opportunities and examples of how you can become involved.

If you feel that Actors Associates is the organization for you and that you could contribute to its mission, contact the Associates at Associates@ActorsTheatre.org or call 502-584-1265.

Associates PinLIMITED-EDITION ACTORS THEATRE STERLING SILVER PIN
To celebrate our very own award-winning Actors Theatre of Louisville, Actors Associates commissioned silversmith Joe Schmidlin to create a special piece that would pay tribute to Actors Theatre's decades of distinction.

The artist captured Actors Theatre's unique identity with this beautiful, detailed sterling rendering of its historic façade.

Those who value Actors Theatre's place in the world of theatre, in our community, and in their own arts experience will want this exceptional piece to wear as a pin, on a lapel or as a necklace to honor Actors Theatre's place in our hearts. Acquire your own sterling silver Actors Theatre honorary pin from the Humana Festival Bookstore at Actors Theatre for $90. You can also order your pin by mail using this order form. For more information, contact Allison Hammons at (502) 584-1265 or AHammons@ActorsTheatre.org

About the Artist
Professional silversmith for over 25 years, Joe Schmidlin, learned his art while a Trappist monk at the Abbey of Gethsemani. You may have seen his work locally at the St. James Art Fair, Madison Chatauqua, Kentucky Crafted The Market, or the Francisco Farms Art Show. His commissions include pieces for the Abbey of Gethsemani (exhibited in the Museum of Fine Art in Owensboro), St. Margaret Mary Church and St. Pius Church in Louisville and St. Francis Hospital in Honolulu. You can visit his studio at 104 Cannons Lane in Louisville.

TRANSPORTATION

Be the first to meet and greet visiting actors, directors or other personnel at the airport. Provide transportation to accommodate shopping and other needs of guest artists or provide other transportation and assistance while they are in Louisville. If you have a flexible schedule and a car that holds lots of luggage, then this is the job for you !

APPRENTICE/INTERN COMPANY SUPPORT
Offer support and hospitality to the talented young actors and interns who are in residence for a full season of professional training with Actors Theatre. Activities include providing meals and transportation, hosting receptions after performances and other social events.

USHERS FOR STUDENT MATINEES
Student matinees expand on learning experiences of middle and high school students begun in the classroom and expand the minds of children who may normally not have access to the performing arts. This committee provides volunteer ushers for this effort. Be part of the rewarding events while enjoying great theatre.

General meetings are held at Actors Theatre on the second Monday of each month, August through May at 5:30 pm. A buffet meal, prepared by Intermezzo Cafe, is available for $6. These meetings include lively presentations on various aspects of theatre production and management, a chance to socialize and get updates of current Actors Associates opportunities.

MATINEE MEALS
Join one of our Matinee Meals teams and feed our cast and crew on days when performance schedules leave less than two hours between shows. Not always available? Become a Meal Mate—an individual who is willing to occasionally assist with matinee meals and crew feedings, but who is not able to have a permanent team assignment.
